Reclaimed slate is often the best choice when it comes to restoring an old roof and can also be a perfect choice for a new roof or re-roofing project, as reclaimed materials instantly gives a historical appearance.

 

For restoration reclaimed slate nearly always matches better than a new product this creates the original aesthetics rather than the “patched” look that comes with using new materials that don’t match as well.

 

Wastage of roofing slate

Normal wastage of any new slate is normally 2-5%. Due to the stripping process and transportation we recommend you allow an extra 10% when ordering re-claimed slate.
